"Vulture" D-23 Heavy Battlecruiser

Vulture is the layman's name associated with the Klingon Empire's D-23 Heavy Battlecruiser.
The D-23 shares a number of design attributes with the Klingon Empire's other Bird of Prey models, the D-12 B'Rel and K'Vort. The Vulture features wingtip mounted disruptor cannons and a forward facing torpedo launcher in the head, with warp nacelles integrated into the main body.
The Vulture is protected by advanced (for the Klingons) heat-resistant armor plating and two powerful shield generators, located inside the bulges on the wings. As it is a Klingon vessel, the D-23 is of course equipped with a cloaking device.
Unlike older Klingon models, such as the Vorcha and Negh'Var, the Vulture is not built of plywood.
So. Getting the head to have a reasonable shape was reasonably hard, as it usually is with me and Klingon ships. The wings were easy enough, though to fill in the gaps by the hinge pieces I had to make do with those squared ugly fins sticking up. The good thing about them is they help proportion the otherwise flat and squashed-frog looking model.
Detailing the center engine on the back was the most fun. There is also a boarding ramp in the front, under the neck.
As it is a Bird of Prey, there are no rear facing weapons.

Although I don't feel that this is your best work, I do really like the bridge, and I love the multi-layered impulse engine, good work there!

I agree. I love the rear, but it just seems alittle flat and uninteresting in the middle and on the undersides. The whole thing feels kinda underdeveloped...

I suppose there is one way to fix that...
MOAR WEAPONS!!!
Detailing isn't my thing I'm afraid.

Moar weapons is always an acceptable answer.

Please don't listen to AA. There is such a thing as TOO many weapons.

Don't worry, I'll be sure to manage the number of guns on this it if I do get around to upgrading it. It is a forwards-oriented Klingon ship, so having minimal but powerful forward facing weapons only is characteristic of the clan this ship represents, but it could still use improving. A turret up top and down below would probably solve many defensive and offensive capability limitations typical of Klingon Birds of Prey.

Or three....on top, two on the wings, three on the bottom, and maybe on on the rear.......and another torpedo launcher on the port side just incase you get blindsided from the left.

Vulture Mark 2

The Mark 2 Vulture is an improved version of the original Vulture. The Mark 2 features rotating wingtip disruptors, forward and rear facing tilting disruptors, and a large hanger bay on its ventral side. The Mark 2 also has a larger "head" section, fins on the dorsal hull and wingtips, and a more traditional color scheme.
The original Vulture is a well-armored, well-shielded, powerfully armed, and highly capable Battlecruiser.
The Mark 2 is doubly capable.

Ooooh! Much better than the previous version! I really like this one, the green really makes the shape of the Vulture pop out! The heavy turrets on the front and the rear are really great, as is the transparent portion of the underside, whatever that's supposed to be. The modified version of the bridge area is also much much better than the previous version. I know it's not changed a lot, but the few minor changes you made were great.
Keep making your ships along this line!
