PX-4 Finch Class Support Gunship

If you need a ship that can deliver heavy firepower in close-to-ground situations under heavy fire, the Finch is for you. Armed with several rotary cannons in addition to missile launchers, the Finch can pave the way for invasion by destroying armored fortifications and enemy units.  

The PX-4 was developed in lack of a gunship that could provide extremely low-altitude infantry support. However, thanks to the Finch's rotating main engine banks (1 on each wing), it can hover at a minimal altitude's of 20 meters, if given ground clearance. Therefore, they are an excellent asset to PXE landing forces, capable of escorting PX-1 Dropships and supporting the deployed troops.  

However, the Finch can still be a deadly adversary in space combat. The massive engines make it warp incapable, but give it immense speed. A Finch can even provide dogfighting abilities, if necessary. But generally, in space combat, Finches are used as secondary bombers, coupled by PX-6 Swallow escorts, to soften up or destroy large flak arrays. On terrestrial battlefields, the Finch is usually called in to take out large enemy fortifications, destroy tanks and walkers, or to support infantry and armor divisions.  

A Finch is equipped with rotary cannons to take out infantry or lightly-armored targets and medium cannons to fire at other aircraft or small buildings. Missile pods are also included to take out armored targets or enemy fighter craft.  

A PX-4 is equipped with heavy armor to protect it from even the most powerful flak guns or deadliest artillery defenses. Because the Finch is often on the frontlines of combat, it is outfitted with larger amounts of absorbic armor, in addition to the normal 0.2 cm hypothermal and hyperthermal armor.  

Also, the pilot is aided by PANS, the Pilot Assist and Navigation System, like all modern fighters.

x2 missile pods

0.2 cm hypothermal armor
0.2 cm hyperthermal armor
2.0 - 3. 4 cm absorbic armor
Mk. 1 standard shielding grid

Awesome-looking gunship! I love the pic! Very detailed, but not too busy. Parts of the back look a tad bare, though; seems like it just needs a little something extra. Love the color scheme, BTW.

One question, though: where's the .lxf? Do you not know how to upload them here, or what?

If you have it on the Lego gallery, then just copy & paste the URL here; that's what some people do, and it works fine. I personally use Dropbox (Google it), and some people use mediafire or brickshelf. Any of those should work out fine.

I can't say I understand your question, though. do you mean answering on a different topic, or what?

Okay, I really, really like this. The cockpit design is amazing... heck, the entire design is amazing. The weapons are really, really well-made, and the angled design of the ship from front to back is really interesting. It reminds me a bit of the Mosquito (Mossy) from Planetside 2, which is a good thing. I must add that I'm rather partial to the color scheme.

As for the link thing, that's to stop spam-bots from infesting the forum, an annoying but necessary precaution.

Okay, that didn't sound 1/50th as cool as the ship looks, but what else would an awesome gunship scream?
