The TAI-8 (Trans-Atmospheric Interceptor) "Ghost" Heavy Interceptor is the most prevalent air superiority fighter in the Yaka Empire, a small, nimble craft capable of complex maneuvers at speeds over mach 3 in-atmosphere. In space battles, some pilots are able to push their craft to just under mach 5. Like the TAB-14, the TAI-8 is a vertical take-off and landing craft, allowing carriers to save on runway space. Powered by four fusion reactors, the fighter's three High Impulse engines (technically HI-5/f engines) provide an extremely high amount of thrust for the size of the craft.
