Star Force: Generation Seven

Back to basics?  The new generation of Federation aerospacecraft features refreshes of fighters longstanding... and long ignored.  The venerable Star Phoenix is transformed; the Star Falcon is polished; the Star Cruiser is back.

Generation Seven XWE7uB3
F-714f Star Falcon VI

While a complement of four phaser cannons and one wide-set torpedo launcher might seem low, the Falcon's bomb load has doubled over the previous version's total.  Versatility is the Star Falcon's middle name.  This heavy fighter, technically a fighter-bomber, can handle anything.

Generation Seven OKynpwV
B-715d Star Cruiser IV

The Cruiser returns with the largest torpedo launcher equipped and highest crew complement of Gen 7.  Light phaser cannons are installed across the ship: six under the wings, two alongside the fuselage facing forwards, two rotaries covering the lower rear, and one top mounted rear-facing turret.  The Star Cruiser fits six bombs in three separate bays.  Superior scanners, communications, and seats for three make the Star Cruiser an appropriate choice for squad leading, task enforcing, anti-stealth ops, and search and rescue.

Generation Seven D5uunlm
A-724c Star Ranger III

A minor refresh to this light, maoeuvreable torpedo bomber slims down the fuselage, streamlines the cockpit, upgrades the guns, and brings the coloration up to date with the rest of the Gen 7 fleet.  The Ranger is ready to rock with two light phaser cannons, four phaser pods, and a standard torpedo launcher,

Generation Seven PNgAPJo
F-728d Star Scout IV

The Scout's Gen 7 body is smoothed and downsized where possible.  Four phaser cannons are an ample deterrent to deep space threats.  The Star Scout IV is intended to support the Star Cruiser IV as a lightweight escort for the heavier bomber.  With mounts for two bombs the Scout can do damage.

Generation Seven PJkjklO
F-731g Star Phoenix VII

The Phoenix has undergone the most radical transformation from its previous incarnation, and while operational enough for production it's not yet completely finished.  As it currently stands, the Phoenix is a compact superiority fighter.  It's faster and more manoeuvreable, but with stronger shields and heavier armor than before, in a smaller frame.  It may not look as mean but its bite has gotten bigger.

Generation Seven 0UwL4AV
F-783d Star Hawk IV

The Super Star Hawk's Gen 7 refresh brings its guns and engines up to date with current tech; little more, nothing less.

Generation Seven E6Fdfi6
B-730d Star Thunderbolt III

Neither the Thunderbolt III or its predecessor, the II, are built with deflector dishes so warp velocity is impossible and space travel is risky. This in mind, the Thunderbolt is the only Gen 7 craft designed solely for sublight, atmospheric operations at any altitude. A bomb load of four charges and an array of both phaser and plasma wing mounted beam weapons make a modest weapons complement, but effective. Thunderbolts are typically planet-based on the ground or in sky-carriers. While space capable, their lack of warp drive hinders their mobility enough that to get from one planet to another a starship must be commissioned.

Oooh. Shiny new fighters! You've really refined the look, Talmid! Keep up the great work! It's good to see your fighters become more and more snazzy looking and aggressive. Very Happy

Glad you like them, Dino! While not evident from these images some of the aircraft with bomb bays do have bay covers: all of the Star Cruiser's, the forward two of the Falcon's, and the Phoenix's.
