Williams-class Battleship
Files:
Stats:
Armament:
-28x Mk. 2 MLS-H ports
-154x Mk. 2 MLS ports
-52x Mk. 1 Energy Batteries
-10x Mk. 3 OLEP
Defenses:
-300cm hexacore composite armour
-4-layer molecular shielding system with dedicated reactor & dual layer ray shield backup
-3-layer particle shielding system
Drives:
3x Alcel BAR-C sublight engines
1x Modified Alcel slipspace drive (1,000 ly/day)
Dimensions:
940 metres long
340 metres wide
120 metres tall
Description:
The Williams-class battleship is easily the most formidable ship yet to come from the Kyramud'e Tsad's Ashi Shipyards in Kyr'vhetine. Packing a massive missile-laced punch and a ten strong OLEP armament, this ship just recently became the flagship of the Dinui System and its inhabitants. A hide made of hexacore composite armour and the toughest molecular shielding network on any Kyramud'e Tsad ship - four layers deep with its own reactor and backup grid - ensures that the Williams-class can take a thrashing and still carry on.

Armament:
-16x Mk. 2 MLS-H missile ports
-154 Mk. 2 MLS missile ports
-68x Mk. 1 Energy Batteries
-24x Mk. 1 OLEP
-6x Mk. 3 OLEP
-1x specially integrated Mk. 4 OLEP (cuts through a metre of armour in .5 sec, power draw of Mk. 3 OLEP {as opposed to unmodified Mks. 2 and 4})
Complement:
-48x SOIC deployment modules with 4 pods each
Defenses:
-300cm hexacore composite armour
-5-layer molecular shielding network with 2-layer ray shielding network backup
-4-layer particle shielding network
Drives:
-13x Alcel BAR-C sublight drives
-1x specialised Alcel Slipspace Drive (2,500 ly/day)
Dimensions:
940 metres long
340 metres wide
120 metres tall
Description:
The KTS Michael is the flagship of the Kyramud'e Tsad Navy, operating under both the offensive Cerar Naval Unit and the defensive Kul United Navy. Despite its size, it can act quite well on its own with its SOIC deployment systems, mid-range OLEP weaponry, long-range missiles, and close-range energy batteries. The thick hexacore armour and multiple layer shielding ensure that the Michael can take quite a beating.

Well... it's certainly an unconventional name, for an alien battleship.
The ship itself looks very much like the carrier it's based off- sans extra hangars, plus craptons of missiles- so my thoughts on that extend equally to this one.

My canon excuse is that the Kyramud'e Tsad were influenced by a variety of cultures, and thus would speak a variety of languages and would name things all sorts of different ways. My IRL excuse is that the name has personal meaning to me, and I wanted my flagship to have that class name because of the person.
As far as the ship, removing the hangars (even without the mild extensions I did to increase the size in some parts) would allow for more weaponry & missiles quite easily, so I thought, "Why not?"

Overall, this is an excellent design! It is nice and beefy, with a good shape to it. Well done!
I have but three suggestions.
1: I can see red frame pieces beneath the outer layers, in LDD.
2: The back is a bit uninteresting, and those engines seem woefully inadequate to the task of moving this heavily armored beast. (Then again, Trek does the same thing with all their ships up until Sovereign class. )
3: I feel like the dorsal mid-rear center needs... something, but I haven't a clue what that might be. Something to break the sameness of armor plating and weapons.
Other than that, the shape, thickness, slope-y-ness, and design of this ship looks good to me!

Thanks, Dino!
1. I'll work on fixing those eventually and reupload the .LXF once that's done.
2. Technically, it's around the same engine size as Akaan'uliik carrier - just split up a little.
3. *shrugs* Personal preference, I guess. I like it more with the long stretch, but I can definitely see how something different there would be... well, different.
