"Thank you, sir. My comrades and I will get back to you on our decisions. I say this only because I cannot see their faces at the moment."

Disconecting the communications, Iramaku looks at Chinoriki, and even through their disguises each man can see the horror in the other's eyes.

"Chin...even if half of what he said was legitimate..."

"I know, Iro. That's why we sent all of that to the analysts back at the Fleet. Hopefully we can figure out how to deal with this. In the meantime, I actually find myself wanting to see how that training crops up to Gee-Vee Blacktalon training..."

"Chin!"

"Sorry! You know I have a tendency to get curious about those things...besides, it'd be a great chance to infiltrate the Romulans."

"Or, it could be a great way to get killed. Surely they test our tissue! And not just the surface that we can alter."

"Right...that'll complicate things..."

One of the other teams pipes in.

"Perhaps we should just await further orders. In the meantime, let's go ahead and let the recruiter know we're all hooked. Worse comes to worse we're in the middle of a boot camp primarily full of untraining whelps and a fraction of properly-trained DI's."

"Right. Let's go with that...for now."

The Blacktalons begin making a more detailed plan for the time being...

He hadn't really though past getting into the office, it was decide now or never, he was now faced with the difficult task of escaping unseen right in the thick of the most heavily secured place outside of the UFPSA (United Federation of Planets Security Agency, an offshoot of the former United States' National Security Agency Razz ). He decided to hide out in the room, hoping it didn't start to stink to bad, until he heard the empress coming, and then hope he could slip out again with his cloak on.*

[OOC]

Yeah so..
Between school and theloss of my computer, I will be unable to continue here until further notice. I had a whole sbplot where most of the DI ships in the fleet are removed to be sent elsewhere, and Daragon becomes somewhat moe likable, BUT that'll have to happen another time.

Daragon, Incororated experienced an unusually high level of pirates and raiders in the last month, and as a result, DI stock prices droppd significantly. To reassure stockholders as well as protect valuable inventory, all DI ships involved in he Sons of Liberty were reassigned to escort and outpost defence duties. CEO Daragon retired to the home fleet, with his sincere apologies at being unable to assist further. Both DIMC's were immediately extracted from the planet, being needed elsewhere, but one (very expensive) Blackout was left to extract Tyson when needed, under th conditon that if it breaks, the Sons of Liberty foots the bill.

(I had a really awesome new Blackout but it was destroyed with the rest of my unposted fleet, including a massive supercarrier and an almost completed new Sentinel. All three projects have been permanently scrapped, the secret DI shipyards raided by unusually wellinformed pirates and destroyed beyond feasible repair)

[OOC] WAAAAAAA!!! Sad  Sad Sad  What a horrible shame!  Sad on the bright (yeah right) side, no one else is active here either, so you aren't missing anything here. (End OOC]

OOC GM NOTICE
The first day of operations on Rator III ends in success (if anyone has other plans, this is just the assumed course of action to keep the plot crawling along)
All allied agents make it safely away from their assignments and back to their shelter for the night undetected and unharmed. Allied Command receives a surprisingly large amount of intel on the Imperial defenses. As the sun sets, the commandoes prepare for a new day.

R.R.W. Alth'Indor Commander's quarters: 0600 Hours, Day 2

Commander Vardok awoke from a fitful sleep to the sickeningly happy, incessant monotone of a voice of his computer alerting him that the day had begun.
"The time is oh-six-hundred hours by the standard Earth System. The time is oh-six-hundred hou..." Vardok moaned, which did not serve to quiet the computer in the least, "the time is oh-six-hundred hours by the..." S'ren interrupted, "I'm up. I'm up." He rubbed his head, it felt like a Gorn had punched his skull repeatedly. "Uhhhh-ohhh. Whoever invented Kali-fal anyway?" he said as he crawled out of bed, "I'm getting too old for parties like that." He gripped his side. "Ouch! What in subspace...." He pulled his micro disruptor out of his robe pocket. "I must have forgotten to take it out and slept on it; good thing I left the blasted thing locked on safe."
Commander S'ren shuffled across the room, picked up his imitation Imperial uniform which he'd left on the back of his chair, and headed for his bathroom to get ready to further entertain his "guests."

A few minutes later

Running a comb through his unruly hair, Vardok questioned his computer.
"Location of Commander Telth'Alore?" The computer promptly answered, "Quarters one-six-three, she has not left said location since she was transported there last night." Vardok nodded then went on, "Location of Commander Nora'dex?" The computer replied an instant later, "In his assigned quarters, he has not left said location since he was carried there last night." Vardok grinned at this, "No, I'll bet he hasn't, not with the Romulan Ale he consumed last evening." He said with a laugh. The ever helpful computer offered it's own suggestion, "Should I arrange for pain killers to be prepared for him?" S'ren laughed at this, which brought pain throbbing through his own head. "I suppose we should, he'll be more talkative if he isn't hurting. While you're at it, order pain meds for Nala and myself as well." The computer chirped in the affirmative to this. "Did you require anything else Commander?" "General status update on the mission." With a whistle the computer replied "Republic 'investigation' taskforce remains undetected, on course, and on schedule to rendezvous with allied fleet. The Centurion remains in stable condition in sickbay. No new orders from the Republic. Ship remains at 98.3% operating capacity, as anticipated with reduced active crew due to current intelligence gathering requirements. No word from the allied fleet. No orders from Libertarian Command. No additional orders from Starfleet. Security reports all activity normal, remaining on silent yellow alert due to mission. Breakfast will be served at oh-six-hundred-thirty hours in the officers mess, the Empress's latest speech denounced the activities of the Federation..." "That's quite enough computer." Vardok said as he fastened the last snap on his uniform.

R.R.W. Alth'Indor Officers Mess: 0650 Hours, Day 2

Subcommander D'Avek Fvara,* a rather green skinned, heavily muscled Romulan with a buzz cut, who was currently dressed as an Imperial Centurion along with Commander S'ren, whose Imperial uniform was not as crisp as the day before, sat in the officer's mess, enjoying a breakfast of Meatrolls** and sipping steaming hot Tarka.***
"Vardok?" D'Avek began, "how long do you intend to entertain our visitors?" S'ren looked around the room before replying. Only they and a few of the ship's officers were present.
"For as long as we can. We'll get everything we can out of them. As it is, they might tell much inadvertently. But if things changed.... there is nothing like having a paranoid Empress with the largest and most powerful intelligence agency in the quadrant to instill in one a remarkable ability to remain silent when being questioned. And they know we wouldn't use a tenth of the Tal Shiar's methods; they aren't afraid of us. So we let them talk until we run out of time, or they run out of trust." Vardok said as he took a bite of his Meatroll.
"Isn't it dangerous? Those guards look pretty trigger happy if you ask me. And if they find out..." D'Avek Fvara replied.
"Listen my friend. Tens of millions of lives depend on this mission. If we fail, then countless people will suffer under the iron fist of the Empress. I refuse to let that happen. If we can learn one thing from them, the risk is worth it. Besides, they don't know our numbers, only of this one ship, which they already knew was coming." But S'ren's words didn't comfort Fvara.
"I still say we should throw them in the brig and melt the key. I don't like having them wandering about the ship. It's hard to tell an Imperial Commander that he can't go down to that particular level because it hasn't been redecorated yet."
"You have a point there," Vardok agreed, "we'll have to keep them busy constantly. Prevent them from getting bored. Any ideas on how we could do that? And any ideas had better not involve anymore Kali'fal." Vardok said, half smiling.
"Depends on what our dear Commander likes to do. We know he likes to brag... perhaps he likes games? Holodeck maybe?" The Subcommander said, thinking aloud.
"Games.... Games.... No, not the Holodeck, I think he probably prefers games of mental skill to physical ability. He doesn't seem like the athletic type. More along the lines of "I am a Romulan and I am superior to" kind of person. What about Latrunculo?**** I imagine he likes a good game of strategy." Vardok thought aloud.
"You know," the Subcommander replied, "I think you have it. Those games can run for hours; and if we had a match between officers...." Vardok snapped his fingers at this.
"It would keep them busy all day! Good thinking D'Avek! That will do nicely." Vardok clapped his friend on the back.
"Well, I'll see about setting it up. I'll try to get Commander Telth'Alore's first officer to join us; you mentioned that you heard them joking about chess? Maybe their interest in chess will come in handy. While I'm at it, I'll ask around and see if I can't find a few of our own officers who might be interested." D'Avek got up, picked up his tray, and returned it to the receptacle.
"Alright, that sounds like a plan. I think I'll go check on things in sick bay." S'ren got to his feet, stretched, and headed for the door. "Let me know when the dear Commander wakes up."
"Will do." Fvara said with a salute.

THE SONS OF LIBERTY - Page 11 Empty Re: THE SONS OF LIBERTY

Sun Nov 17, 2013 1:28 pm
It is 05:00 hours on the second day before the assault on Rator III. Although the Sons of Liberty fleet is reduced due to the withdraw of CIO Daragon's fleet, they still remain a formidable force, but Turson, who is sitting in his office in his night robe, is nonetheless concerned.

*The doorbell rings and interrupts Turson's thoughts*

"Who is it?" asks the Commander, pressing a button on his desk.

"Lieutenant Smythe, sir!" is the reply.

"Enter, Smythe."

*Smythe enters, stopping at Turson's desk and snapping to attention.*

"Sir, I am elated to hear of Daragon's withdraw from the fleet!" he pipes.

"I'm not," Turson replies a little curtly. "You may have held a grudge against him, and I'll admit he was an odd customer, but a powerful ally no less. I do not feel that the forces we are about to combat are that powerful, but I have a foreboding inside..."

"A foreboding of what, sir?" asks the lieutenant.

"A foreboding that maybe it will be harder than I thought..." mutters the Commander, almost inaudibly.

"Sir, we have here amassed one of the finest fleets in the galaxy!" Smythe reassures. "We may not be the biggest, but we nonetheless are very skilled, and we have new allies that are very eager to shed the blood of our enemies."

"You like that, don't you?" grunts Turson. "Listen, Smythe, I of all people know how crafty and tyrannical those Imperial Romulans can be, but I still do not like the idea of snuffing out their lives. If they would change their ways, I would be more than happy to spare them. But, as the old adage says, 'The road of tyrants has no side trails.' The only way to deal with a tyrant is by force."

"Yes, sir, I understand," replies Smythe. "Have you heard any reports from the recon missions?"

"Not anything very definite," says Turson. "So far things have been successful in that they have not been discovered, but from what I hear of Jace's Blacktalon team, the Imperial Marines are more formidable than we first thought."

"But I'm sure we can defeat them!" Smythe quips.

"I hope so," sighs the Commander. "Well, Smythe, if you'll excuse me, I must get changed and head down to breakfast. It is a shame that Commander S'ren is not there...a fine man he is...I enjoyed his company. So much wisdom to learn from..."

*Smythe leaves the room and Turson changes into his uniform*

R.R.W. Alth'Indor Sickbay 0657 Hours, Day 2

The door closed behind Commander S'ren with a hiss as he entered sickbay. Doctor T'nai sat behind his desk, as immaculately dressed as always.
"Good morning Commander. Did you sleep well?" He asked pleasantly. Vardok paused a moment before answering
"Not particularly. And yourself?" Vardok quarried.
"Quite well thank you Vardok. Even though our patient had me up throughout the night. You came to check on him?" The doctor asked. Vardok nodded.
"Yes. Any change T'nai?" The Commander said with concern in his voice.
"Nothing of significance. I have him sedated. He's holding on, though he's not gaining ground." T'nai shock his head sadly.
"Honestly I'm out of options. His injuries were so severe; there is only so much I can do to mend flesh and blood. He's old, and he's weak. I fear he will get his wish before we reach Rator III."
"Why must there be so much death and pain T'nai?" S'ren said solemnly, his eyes a little wet.
"I don't know Vardok. I don't know. But I do know we have to do everything in our power to stop it. To stop more old men from dying without reason in foolish quests for power. The doctor said resolutely. Vardok cleared his throat.
"Yes. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get back to other duties." S'ren turned and headed for the door.
"Of course Vardok. And I to mine." Vardok stopped and looked at the old general, lying there helpless; connected to a dozen wires, tubes, and machines. The ancient soldier was pale, there was so little life left in his frail body. S'ren had seen thousands die. And yet seeing this old Romulan dying without reason still tore at his heart.
The Commander walked briskly to the door and then to the turbolift.

R.R.W. Alth'Indor Bridge 07:06 Hours, Day 2

The turbolift came to a stop at the bridge.
"Commander on deck!" The bridge crew came to attention with a smart imperial salute.
"At ease. Status update Sub-Lieutenant?" S'ren ordered as he walked towards his chair.
"Sir, we remain undetected. The task force is maintaining speeds of warp eight point seven-three. We will reach the rendezvous point in ten hours fifteen minutes. Centurion Fvara has organized a Latrunculo tournament at 1130 hours in the rec hall as ordered, Sir." The young officer reported.
     "Very good Sub-Lieutenant Ay'varek.

[OOC Brock. It's really quite simple... we're invading the Romulan Star Empire because the Federation president is really a Romulan saboteur. We are currently scouting out Rator III, the new headquarters for the Empire. What ever gave you the idea that all this spying and lying and backstabbing was complicated? Razz But seriously, you could join us as reinforcements. If you want to play a character other than main character (and thereby already be part of the action without having to find a way to get Blacktron involved) we could use crew, marines, fighter pilots, junior officers, and other such people on the PCG ships in the task force. I'd offer you a position with the Romulan Republic... but right now we're in a boring story plot that wouldn't leave much action options. But I suppose you could join the RR task force if you like. End OOC]

OOC: Essentially I wouldn't get any of the actual Blacktron Empire involved, my character would just be a character posing as an ambassador from Octegeria(long story short, if you haven't read my (unfinished Razz) extensive history, the Blacktron Empire does not exist as of now, it is disguised as the kingdom of Octegeria). This ambassador would just get sucked into this whole thing by accident(aka he was accidentally in a ship when it left for war Razz) allowing him to discover the inner workings of the PCG and also exist in the storyline. Johnnyred would have the Andromeda hopping all over Federation space like that and 2. Why we would take on the powerful Romulan Empire while fighting the Cor Redor, that's like Hitler not doing well enough with Britian so then deciding to invade Russia.
