The Marauder Class Beam Cruiser is the big brother of the Ranger, with a greater number of beam weapons than the its little brother could ever house. The Marauder fulfills the same role as the Ranger, but is able to bring a lot more firepower to the fight. In increased number of heavy beam platforms also allow the ship to better combat enemy corvettes, frigates, and cruisers.

That's a great design, but the rods connecting the engine pods to the main hull seem a little... thin, don't you think?

Yes, but it's space! The rod thickness doesn't matter, and shielding is a little higher than average in that area of the ship. I'm just making that up on the spot.

Very slick! I love the design and the... whatever... on the sides. Though I do agree with RMM. Those rods do seem kinda thing, but I see where you're coming from too. Though it wouldn't take much to blast through those. A well placed missile from a fighter could take one out.

Or a sudden turn, if the torque applied by the thruster was enough to break it. It's a good thing ships have structural integrity fields to deal with that.

Like I said, these are long-range beam ships and specialize in taking down fighters and bombers, so the structural weakness is allowable. The ship's main purpose is destroying the most likely thing to take it out.

Laser light show......I'm having alot of fun envisioning that. XD But yeah, you need to do a quick fix on those rods, even if you don't upload fresh pictures, atleast it'll be there for new ones you have end up making for something else.

The DS-1 Orbital Battlestation had 2500 laser cannons to take out fighters and bombers.

Now you just have to make a picture that's not ruined with excessive gimping and special effects adding (see my Wolverine for an example) that aptly displays the laser light concept.
